Can anyone give me an idea on how to make money true a website?
you can make money by google adsense. Search "google adsense" on google and read the detail
Your question is a little to broad for a definitive answer. If you already have a website, and are trying to monetize, or make money through it, asad's suggestion is one idea. Check the Adsense TOS to make sure that when you market the site, you are not violating them.
On the other hand, if you want to create a website for a business, such as selling a product or service, there are way too many to give a definitive answer without more details.
You can monetize it via Google Adsense, or some affiliates sites. But before you can earn, you need to have traffic first on your site.
You can also look into these alternatives
Infolinks / Intellilinks
these are only alternatives to google adsense, in case your application in rejected by google
It can sometimes be more beneficial to sell adspace on your site directly to advertisers. That is not always easy to do though.
I would always start by getting backlinks.
Backlinks help to increase your Google pagerank.
Once you get a reasonably high PR, say around PR3.
People will start to ask to advertise on your website.
The higher your PR the more money people will pay.
Advertising really only works at scale i.e you need lots of traffic.
A more likely way to make money online is ecommerce - not as lucrative for sure but it can be profitable from day one unlike the majority of advertising based companies.
You need to work hard to get your site on top. Then you can sell the website or advertisers may pay you for posting their links
There's to monetizing a site than just advertising. I prefer to diversify because relying on outside resources for income is a very risky way to do business.
Now it all depends upon your niche and your audience, but there are countless ways to monetize. Examples are:
1. Your own how-to ebooks
2. Membership fees if you have a membership site or membership section
3. Affiliate products
4. Products you create yourself
5. Use your site to link to an eBay store and vice/versa.
6. Supply an offline service
7. Finders fees and commissions for generating leads
And much, much more. It all depends on the niche, tho. Some niches have tons and tons of monetizability.
I suppose you need to first ask yourself this "What kind of website do I want to create"?
If you have a blog or web magazine, you can typically make money off of the advertising. You can sell ad-spots or go with text-links. As a previous poster mentioned, you can sign up with Google Adsense to help bring in revenue. In addition, you can also sign up for various affiliate advertising programs and make money that way.
In the above example, SEO and SMO is essential. You will need to create good content and have good SEO practices.

Get backlinks to your site. Increase your PR.
Once you've got a reasonably high Pagerank (PR), say around PR3 or above.
Then people may request to pay to put a link to their website on your website.
Why? Because one high PR backlink for them is much better than 50 PR0 backlinks.
If you website receives much traffic, it will be reasonable to place a banner there and get money.
Firstly, Google adsense is not best way because they take a big part of your potencial revenue. So i offer to try look for what would like to post ad in your site. In this way you save your profit

There are hundreds of alternatives to Adsense and some of them pay far better. In fact, on many sites you don't have the option of Adsense - for example, if there's adult content, copyright issues, gun or drug related content etc., - and in those cases it's best not to even try sticking Adsense code on the site.
