do not go for keywords that are very competitive. choose keywords that are lowly competitive. create profiles in high authority sites and input your keywords as anchor text leading to your website. you can post your articles garnished with your keywords in high PR article submission sites. you can also post your link with your keywords as anchor text in high PR social bookmarking sites too.

You will improve your keyword ranking when you follow the white hat techniques you need to participate in web 2.0 which having good influence score and also for others like image sharing, forum participation, profile creation and also the sites should must be related to your business only.

"Lowly competitive"? Actually, pursuing keywords with low competition or even medium competition, is good avice, but it's probably the only good advice in your entire post. The rest of it is old, outdated techniques.

Following white hat techniques is definitely good advice, but then your advice fell apart when you tried to get specific. Image sharing, forum participation, and profile creation, like cheta's advice above, are outdated SEO techniques Also, instead of saying "participate in web 2.0", explain what that means.

Keywords must be chosen as per the competency. If you are targeting high competitive keywords then they will hard to rank in Google quickly. But, if you focus on certain keywords which are having low competition then it could help your website to get rank in Google quickly. Other than that, the ranking depends on your marketing techniques.

I agree with Nitesh. If your keywords are highly competitive then it will take time to rank because of close competition. However, if your keywords are less competitive then you are lacking on some back end activities that helps in improving the rank of your keywords. Make sure to effectively and efficiently perform the activities focusing on your keywords. Moreover, SEO requires time and patience and changes require time to deliver the results.

First you have to revise your content, page title, page description for other's to verify they match your desired keywords.

Nowaday's the meta keywords is useless.you must have your keyword present in your content that is the most important thing.

Also, if some of your keywords are present on page title, description, or in-page titles (h1, h2, h3...) that's better too. If the keyword are at the URL that's good

If your ranking is too low, revise your page . First You can use the W3C page check and then use some free tool to evaluate keywords from page and also if your page lack's content that's not good (You need a minimal quantity of content to get a better ranking).

Also, don't forget to avoid the use of javascript / documents (Word, pdf), and flash, because they all are external, on some cases, google can get it, but at another cases not. It's better if your content (With your keywords) are present on the target page.

I cannot recommend you a percentage of presence of a keyword, i think that's a very questionable thing. I personally use about 1-2% of keyword presence on the pages to get some rankings, and a good content between this keywords (I try to use them on the content, without force their appears).

First and foremost, you have to analyze which keyword is more competitive and which is less. If you pick up the high competitive keyword, you have to work harder to rank it in Google search engine whereas, if you choice less competitive keyword you will get the opportunity to rank your keywords better than others. It's good to go with less competitive keywords as you can beat your competitors and can augment your rank in search engines and customers number as well.

There are lots of factors google consider for ranking. So we have to follow as per the guidelines. Please create unique title, description & content. Because if you have copied your title ,description and content from other site so it will definitely hurt your ranking.

So, please check it. And start to publish unique blog content and circulate it in different social sites.

You can also publish your links in high DA sites which provides you dofollow links so it will help you to boost your ranking.

I am sorry, but nothing is outdated. Most of these works, just strategy and the way of doing all these things changed.
You have to be specific with your work. Image sharing on Devianart, Pinterest and Tumblr helps our keyword.

    Asher:

I agree with some of what you said, but would like to add the following comments:

    1. Find low competitive keywords - be careful here as they may have low competition because no one searches them
    3. Use keywords in Titles - I assume you mean Title Tags, as you mentioned headings below. This will not help rankings, but may help conversions
    5. Use keywords in URLs - Not really necessary, any effect would be minor
    7. Blog Commenting - Apparently, this horse is not as dead as I thought. Maybe we should beat the rider instead of the horse.
    10. Try to use keywords in headings and sub headings - Don't overdo it with headings. It might look like you are trying too hard to influence the rankings

Make sure whether those keywords are properly optimized in your website's content. And try to pitch those keywords in the content in an appropriate manner.
