What most the company did is make the basic as low as possible and give the highest sales commission as possible. This can reduce the lose by hiring the wrong person and those top sales person will interested on the job due to high commission

I would apply to a recruiting agency and their headhunters will find me the right person but you have to make much money for them so that they wouldn't like to leave you and your company.

I agree with you. I suggest to contact recruiting agencies or headhunters or You can post a job hiring online to top local job websites.

I would try and network through LinkedIn to find a good candidate. I find sometimes job postings are a waste of time and create more work. Rather than putting something out there to have people send you a million bad resumes, try and go out there and find the person you're looking for!

Good luck! It's a big decision and can be a daunting task, for sure!

    To OP

You can hire newly graduated students or under graduates who are seeking for a job. But make sure they have a good knowledge about technology, sales and marketing. You can teach them how to manage potential clients. I know this may be time consuming and impracticable thing for your well established company, but students are highly motivated than experienced person.

It is all in your initial and final interview of your employees.
