How do you decide when the competition is too fierce to enter the market?
I look at a couple factors. The first thing I do is have my Google Adwords guy do a key term analysis to see what costs we're looking at to generate leads and/or sales. Then I manually search Google to scope out the competition. It's a feel-based approach, I look at a number of factors including quantity and quality of competing websites, product assortment, market pains that they've already covered, etc. There's a great tool called Market Samurai that gives you a more quantitative measurement of how competitive it is to rank on Google for your target key terms.
