Any one can tell me that How to Check Which Links Can Harm Your Site's Rankings?
Any unnatural link can harm your site's ranking. This include, but not limited to:
1. Irrelevant links (your seo service site has a backlink on toys website) or (your english site has links on several japanese sites)
2. Several backlinks of your site have low authority, high outbound links or low quality content.
3. You have several backlinks coming from same ip (blog or web networks)
4. You have several backlinks coming from comments, forums, or classifieds.
5. Article sites (like ezine, they are dead now)
These were just few cases. Anyone is welcome to add to this list.
Just remember, links that are unnatural; can harm your site's ranking. So, just focus on creating and distributing high quality original and right content to right readers and you will be fine.
I would like to add that each site has a "profile" in terms of its different elements. Meaning, if your site has only 5 pages, but you have 10,000 links and 9,999 of them are from questionable sources, are easy to get or are the type of links associated with questionable practices, chances are you're in for a negative search engine experience.
That's an extreme example, of course. But the smaller the site, the less tolerance you'll receive for any errors you might make. That's not say that one should aim for or follow any type of formula, but you're better off focusing on quality content and getting natural links than trying to go after "special kinds" of backlinks. Natural links occur when people link to you on their own because they like your site and its content.
I think the question was finding the bad backlinks, and the person was looking for a website that does this. I am also interested in a website that does this. I am only aware of sites that tell you how many website backlinks you have. Not a site that shows you what backlinks are bad.
Any links which have been created just to manipulate rankings in the SEs eyes will get punished, resulting harm to sites ranking. Such link types have been mentioned above by fellow member. We must focus to create links in which user are interested in and get value out of it, that is it. Contextual type relevant links develop can be helpful.
I don't think there is any site that can tell you which link is bad and which is good. Rather, you must know what classifies as bad link. This is why I mentioned some important and most occurring examples of bad links. SEOs must not rely on software and tools to do everything for them.
It is really difficult task and it needs so much experience to identify harmful backlinks. I suggest you that don't make backlinks from website which are not related to your website or business. Try to get backlinks from website which has high domain authority and Page rank.
Yes, you are right dude, if you provide the spammy content or URL, or irrelevant and poor quality content, then it may be possible it harm your website. So, I recommend you, don't provide the a number of backlinks from the same IP and be aware about the contents whatever you are providing.
Any unnatural thing can harm your site, if you are creating a back link from porn site or any irrelevant site will harm to your site. several backlinks are coming from same IP it will also harm your site. so please take care of this thing.
You can have the link profile of your site using sites like Ahrefs, Open Site Explorer or Majestic SEO.
Once you have a link profile, filler out the backlinks that are from sites unrelated to that of your site. Which may appear spammy.
Backlinks that are from low authority sites, different language than that of your site are usually spammy.
You may also make use of tool called LinkDetox to search for the backlinks that may harm your site.
Once you find out all the harmful links, disavow those links using Google Webmaster Disavow Tool.
Google spreadsheets and Microsoft Excel comes in handy during this process.
The Disavow Tool will not work unless you have first tried to get the links removed yourself. You will also have to keep all documentation of these efforts, as Google will want to know that you tried to get them removed.
If a website is accepting links from any website, you should not submit your link in such sites. Also if the PR and Authority of the website is not good, one should avoid backlink from such sites.
You can check your bad links with the help of following below tools.
A. Google WebMaster Tool / Else you can disavow
B. Open Site Explorer
C. Majestic SEO
D. A Hrefs
Hope this helps in sorting out your issue.
Low quality and irrelevant theme website can harm your website rankings. You should always avoid low quality Directory and Bookmarking websites. Dynamic website also harms website ranking.
