How The Reputation System Works & Why You Should Use It You've probably noticed little green "blocks" under your username that look like this . These blocks indicate a user's reputation on the forum. Every user starts off with 10 reputation points and as time goes by other users can add or take away from that. The more blocks you have, the more reputation you have. With BAF, you get a block for every 50 reputation points after reaching 100 reputation points. You give reputation by clicking on the Thanks button or the star button located at the bottom left of every post. Every time you click the Thanks button you are giving a user 1 reputation point. Every time you click the star button you are giving them 1-10 points. This varies with the amount of reputation you personally already have. When clicking on the star button you will notice a popup. This is how you give or take away reputation. Click the reputation(star) button and select I approve or I disapprove. (Approving gives reputation; Disapproving takes away reputation.) After selecting one, write a comment. ("Great post. -Your Name", etc.) Then all you have to do is click the Add to Reputation button and you're all set! You can see how much reputation and your 10 latest reputation comments in your user control panel. Just click settings: Then scrolling to the bottom of the page: No one can see your reputation points and comments but you and the staff. Also, you cannot see all of the reputation points/comments that you have ever gotten, only the latest 10. You may see a grey block when you look at your reputation points in your user control panel. Don't worry about this, it just means neutral and doesn't affect you at all. It's only grey because the user maybe new to the forum and hasn't gotten any reputation points himself. Make sure not to go into the "red"! Your green blocks become red blocks once you reach a negative amount of reputation points so remember to keep it above 0, which shouldn't be hard, because a red user determines someone not worth working with. If you have any questions regarding the reputation system please leave them in this thread. Thanks!
