You can sleep as little as 4 hours and be functional. However, it is recommended that 8 be the average for an adult.

I personally find that if I sleep less than 7 hours per night, I really struggle the next morning. So for me, at least 7 and preferably 8 hours is my target.

Doctor suggest 8 hours for adult, 10~12hours for small kids but all depend on your own body need. Personally I sleep 5~7hours per day in average, I feel bad if sleep less than 5hours
However, some of my friends sleep only 4~5hours per day and look fresh

I generally sleep about six hours per night and then take a nap for about 25 minutes just before lunch, it works quite well for me. If I sleep too little I feel tired and groggy, but I also feel tired and groggy if I sleep too much or stay in bed late in the morning.

That's funny to see that you take a nap before lunch but not after lunch. It is better if you take 15~30 minutes nap after lunch. This is suggested because normally human being feel tire after taking lunch due to our body focus on the digestion.

That's what I was going to say, your body is much more likely to want a nap after food.

Eight hours is recommended for an average adult, and ten to twelve hours for the child. But it all depends on the routine of work you do all day. I feel fine when i sleep for four hours at night. More or less is disturbing. But a nap after lunch is a must for me.

At the very least get about six hours of sleep. It will take you longer to rejuvenate if you sleep less than that. Plus, you'll most likely end up taking a nap.

Thanks for that, it takes me a little while to wake up fully after taking a nap. Hence, I normally take the nap before lunch then get up have a bit to eat and do some house work, which helps to wake me up before going back to my computer. However, I will try taking it after lunch for a few days, to see how it works out for me.

Nap after launch is suggested by doctor (15~30minutes).
By the way, you gotta take some wash after your nap, then you will feel energy recharged :)

8 hours is suggested by most people and professional in psychological field. If I have not had at least 7 hours sleep, I would feel demotivated and tired the next day, which is one of the feelings that I hated the most!

Machine can break down if it overworked, the same applies to our body. 24 hours a day, why not reward your body a great 8-hour-rest after working it for 16 hours? Your body deserves it!

8 hours would be the best or maybe more would be around 10 hours if you are really tired. If not the basic would be 8 hours.

More than 10 hours of sleep is really a pain. I tried it once and ended up with a headache. XD

Quality sleep hours is more important, the best time to sleep is from 10pm to 2am.

I try to sleep around 4 - 5 hours a night, this is fine for me, i don't know how long i can keep this up for, but only being 19, i imagine it will eventually catch up with me.
