I've been selling some unwanted domain names on various webmaster forums, including here on BAF. However, I'd be interested in other suggestions as to ways or places to sell them.

    Any ideas?

Well, I know there are some sites that you can submit your domains to and they will try and sell it. It can be good since a lot of people look on a site like that. The other way would be to place a little thing that says that the domain is for sell so when someone goes to it, they see it is for sell.

Digitalpoint is where I've sold all mine - however, if you're willing to share your proceeds I have seen a lot of domains (with some high prices) going on eBay

Welcome to Business Advice Forum td2011! Thanks for suggesting eBay I will certainly consider that, I wouldn't mind paying a fee if it allowed me to get a better price for the domains I sold. I have also sold domains on DP, however unfortunately domain name sales also seem to be suffering from the effects of the global recession.

As is everything! Still, there's a silver lining to everything, and when you're buying a depressed market can be a good thing!

    Hi Fergal,
also try Flippa, there are usually many buyers/sellers online, but the listing fee is relatively high ($19 + upgrades).
    Good Luck!

Good point td2011, my loss is someone else's gain :)

Thanks for the suggestion Casey, I am a member there and should probably have tried listing some of my more valuable domains there. Will try them for the next valuable one I try to sell.

Flippa is a fantastic source for selling (and buying) domains. It all depends on whether you are selling *just* the domain name itself or the entire site.

Welcome to Business Advice Forum TheFlowDoctor!

Do you feel that Flippa is more suited to selling sites than just domains?

No. Flippa can be used for both, but the amount you will ultimately get *usually* depends on whether you are selling a full-blown site versus a domain name. Some users sell "domain packs" and make a pretty decent living doing so! What that business model entails is beyond me, though.
