I am setting up a store on line selling ethnic dolls ,and religious gift items , to benefit a non profit foundation
, how is the best way to meet with legit suppliers from India, orient and other Asian countries , with out having to deal with those expensive front companies , who charge outrageous prices , for they are nothing but middle men

Its not tough to get any factory information because you can get information through net. You can get contact number and e-mail to required person. Dear net shrink this world and every person can get his required information.

Andreas I would assume that the suppliers are small and generally don't have websites that you can find on Google, is that correct?

Perhaps you could find a town or area that is known for producing the type of product you are seeking. Then you could contact the local authorities or business association in that town and ask if they could put you in touch with suppliers. Another option would be to visit the area and visit suppliers.

You could also consider contacting the local embassies or consulates of the relevant countries. They will often maintain lists of businesses in their countries or help you find suppliers from there.

This is very common, if you want to get goods direct from manufacturer, you gotta visit the country and direct go to the factory. However, not all the manufacturer accept order directly from the end seller, unless you are ordering big quantity

Or contact businesses that sell such kind of product and try to ask them for their trusted suppliers if you could have a contact to them.

It is right. I agreed with Sigma. In additional, you also need to find more suppliers before visit the county. If the manufacturer is not good, you can choose the other one. So that, you can try to publish your purchasing information in the whatyouwant.cn which is free for you. And then´╝î the suitable and professional suppliers would find you.
