How do you calm your mind?

    In our lives some times we caught in situations where we get despair and feel low about ourselves because of our limitations in handling those circumstances.
    In such situations I try to watch every thing happening just as a movie is going on. It really helps in watching the reality behind every situation and it calms my mind and stabilize my thoughts.

    What you people do in such circumstances? Please share your views and experiences.

    Well it is one of the good ways. But I will not suggest to analyse the situation by seeing your past again. It sometime troubles. Best way to calm your mind is to start listening your favorite song and involve yourself with the song by singing it. can also do some activity like swimming and jogging. this will divert your mind from any kind of thing. you can also indulge in group activity or play a game with your friends like chess among indoor games.

    I listen soft music to calm my mind.

    When I'm really stressed I use a heavy bag to let go of some aggression. I listen to music all day to keep my mood up. Daily workouts help with stress as well.

    When i want to calm myself there are lots of things that's running in my mind. When close my eye for peace and relaxing i go in the other world in which what i have to achieve and what to achieve when is get that achievement.

    I prefer you to drink cold water as well as to either listen music or watch comedy movies when are feeling yourself very depressed.

    Listen to some Christian songs and pray then chat with friends with funny topics...

    I also listen to music, it makes me calm.

    I calm my mind by playing games, drinking water or juices and doing Yoga.

    A simple breathing exercise makes us calm.

    I watch movies or I involve myself in some fun activities like calling some dear friend, going for a coffee with friend etc.

    when we are suffering from stress so need to calm our mind with some music and go where your mind can give you a chance to think about yourselves....

    see some music or favourite movie and enjoy day...

    I plan to meet my friends, listen to music or draw some drawing to calm my mind.

    Its different for everyone.
    Some people like to drink, smoke, drugs.
    Some like to listen to music and calm themselves.
    Some even like to just go to a park and look around and watch kids play, because the sight of little kids playing and they laughter and their smiles helps a lot of people.
    Some people go to the gym and exercise to calm their mind.
    And some people like to go on long walks to calm their minds.
    But the best of all, which is mostly common in men, they like to punch a punching bag!!

    Through meditation you can calm yourself and feel relaxed.

    Take a little time to meditate for just a minute or two. It will surely help you relax your body and your mind.

    I calm my mind by doing dancing in front of the mirror to lessen my stress and to make my feeling "great". Sometimes I just close my eyes and reminiscing all the happy moments with my love ones or friends and family, then open your eyes and you see yourself smiling in no reason. :eek:
