Hi Folks, Hope everyone had a good xmas and got over the new year celebrations ok.

I have a freind who has this amazing product and has a basic website set up. I asked him if I could become an affiliate/salesperson for him and he has agreed, however we need to implement a way to track the visitors/buyers i send to his website.

Can anyone recommend what is the best software to use to enable this functionality or any other info I should know about? I will be creating my own website/landing page and I will be directing my visitors to his payment page.

    thanks

Your friend could consider adding his product to an affiliate network such as http://cj.com/, http://www.clickbank.com or http://affiliate.com/. This would allow him to promote his affiliate offer more widely and to manage affiliate commissions for all affiliates.

Another option that could be much simpler would be to use promotional codes. Your friend would give you an exclusive promotional code that he does not give to anyone else. You promote that code on your site and then your friend pays you a commission every time someone uses that code.

Some shopping carts have affiliate tracking integrated as part of the software. Do you know what shopping cart your friend is using on his site?

Something else you could consider is accepting payments for the product on your site. Then pass the payment minus your commission to your friend, along with the order details so that he can ship the product to the client.

Most of these methods will require an element of trust between you and your friend and you should both sign an agreement to clarify the arrangement between you both.
