    Guys,

This is what I've experienced with my own domain name. I 've registered the domains three days before. Bought the hosting before a day. And did these things. Within 24 hours my site was indexed on Google without a spending a single penny. (It took approximately 16-18 hours only, If I'm right: Excuse me I checked only then. I don't know whether it was indexed before that)

The things I've done with the domain name:

    1. Made a post (you may make either a post or add some content).

    2. feedping, pingomatic, autopinger submissions

    3. A tweet with url ( don't shorten your url and tweet)

    4. Submissions on Clipmarks, Amplify and Reddit.

    5. Searched for the url with quotes ("www.yoururl.com") On whois.com, alexa and google a few times.

    6. Made a comment on a blog with good PR and traffic.

That's all. After some times I could see my domain on google. Note that it was not on yahoo or bing. It may take 2 or three days I guess.

Try and share your experience. Also add your advices too.

I don't think this is possible as Google only updates itself once every 3 weeks or something. So, unless you were really lucky and got it within the 3 day period before the update, that's the only way it was possible for you to do this. So you must be a very lucky person. :p

You can get your site indexed by Google instantly if you set it up in your account. Thats just what I always do.

I must be thinking of Page Rank then.

    My apologies, gentlemen.

Does this also give you great page ranking? Or is this just indexing?

I'm skeptical too. I was under the impression that Google only updated every few months or so...

You must have several links from high PR sites in order to get yourself a high PR.

davshirley & Sunshine, Page Rank is only updated every few months, but the Original Poster is not talking about Page Rank. His tips are about how to get indexed in Google, i.e. to have your site listed on the Google search engine.

PR is updated in 3 months or more, not in weeks

PR is next thing, it may take several months and depends on how your site is doing. I believe indexing your site isn't that hard. Anyways, thanks for sharing the tips.

In my experience blogs get indexed fastest. It helps too if you add your new site's RSS feed to any existing accounts you have with the likes of Yahoo on your My Yahoo page or your Live page with MSN, because to display the feeds on your page they have to send their bots to discover what's there. If you can find somewhere to add your feed, do so. Once one SE bot comes along, it doesn't take much time for others to follow.

Its not luck, the guy did it right, my new www.plugged.it had 117 in 48 hours indexed, now on day 10 has 292, some people just know how to play the game! Also have a members classified already showing on Google for his searches, you just have to know what you are doing, and not use any black hat methods

Edit: Just seen your mention of PR, sorry buddy! :)

There are numerous ways to do it including those listed above.

We spend some money on Ad-Words and have so say that the response we are getting with them is amazing. Working on a (very) small budget and managing the phrases carefully is showing major results for our business. We have exceeded our first month projections by more than 200%.

That's a great result VJDMorrey, well done with that. What kind of site are you using AdWords for? Are you selling a product or service from the site?

    AdWords

We are selling a service and we are in a competitive marketplace too.

We're also big on submitting articles etc also.

It's always about using a mix of media in my view, though online will always be our key medium.
