It is a term to describe the period of time in which Google used to rebuild its rankings, and as a result of this rebuilding, rankings of Web sites on Google's SERP may fluctuate in order during a several day period.

When Google publish a rule, then it will rank all the sites based on the new rule. So it will be a period time that the rank of your site are not stable, this is called Google Dancing.

Google Dance is an out-dated slang term used to describe the period of time in which Google used to rebuild its rankings, and as a result of this rebuilding, rankings of Web sites on Google's SERP may fluctuate in order during a several day period.

Traditionally Google dancing was fluctuations in their displayed search results due to gaps/lags between their multiple servers refreshing.
So part of their index would be updated whilst other parts wouldn't be giving this "dance" effect with sporadic SERPS.
Now the traditional Google dance does not exist, and as said above it is a slang term for short term fluctuations in Google's search results.

Google Dance is an out-dated slang term used to describe the period of time in which Google used to rebuild its rankings, and as a result of this rebuilding, rankings of Web sites on Google's SERP may fluctuate in order during a several day period. The "Google Dance" would happen anywhere up to 36 times per year, however in 2003 Google begun updating its index on a weekly basis, which all but eliminated the Google Dance.

Google dancing normally will happen on a select number of keywords...if it is happening on every single keyword then there is something wrong....chance of penalisation...

hope every one has given the answer of that simple question. But I also would like to say little about Google dance. Its named because of lot of fluctuation is ranking of website. As everyone knows that google change or update their algorithm more then 500 times in a year. So those website do not full fill google requirements , those website goes up and down. This up and down called google dance.
