Hello there! I’ve been thinking of getting surveillance cameras for my home just as an added security measure. I’m not really techy and everything so I’m not quite sure what I should look for.
I’m not sure whether I should get wired surveillance cameras or wireless ones. I’d like some advice on what’s best for my situation:
I’m currently having my own house built and it’s about 40% done and I already have a place for the DVR or whatever you call the “motherboard” of the surveillance system. I plan to have around 4 cameras for all 4 entryways on the first floor.
So should I go for a wired one or not? What’s the difference anyway (aside from the use of wires)?

If going for under wiring, go for wired one.

get a lorex eco dvr if going wired... amazing system. if you want a wireless standalone go with the dlink dcs-942 wireless ip camera. costco sells em with a huge sd card

I would go for a wireless IP camera.
