    Hi to all members,

To work from 8 to 10 hours in front of computer or only on desk, it’s really challenge to remain healthy and fit all time.

I recently decide to follow on desk hands, eyes, necks exercises and to follow stress free tips at the end of the day.

So, also want to know about your helpful health fitness ideas for Desk or Online Job.

I try to get up from my desk at least once every hour. I also jog three days per week, plus some walking and stretching exercises on the other four days, to keep my body active. As you say, sitting at a desk for hours, day in and day out is not good for your body and you need regular exercise.

You need to just move your body parts so that they're to remain healthy. Staying at your computer for more than 8 to 10 hours is really challenging, you need to really move from your chair and move around.

Main thing is, you need to perform little yoga and movement of your whole body.

Get up from desk is a good manner. I have a small plants next to my desk to relieve the fatigue of eyes. Have a rest at noon.

How does a plant help? Is it a particular kind of plant?

I guess its because of looking at 'green' things will make your eyes more relax and do more good. But I dunno the theory behind it though...

Now that you mention it, I do remember hearing that before, thanks for the reminder. I've just moved a very green rubber plant into my office, hopefully it will help relax my eyes.

Just get up and do some stretching and walk outside for a bit to get some fresh air. That's something I always do everyday.

    Yup, that's changing your physiology.
I dunno, but Anthony Robbins says that emotion is created by motion.
When you feel tired, try to change your physiology and you will change your emotional state. :)

I suggest to you that you should not overdo anything... Overdoing may lead to something wrong and sometimes, bad for one's health.

Very interesting points Shawn and I agree with you 100% on the tiredness suggestion. When I begin to feel tired working, I often switch to working on a different task and that has been working very well to keep me refreshed and productive.

We have to learn to divert our attention towards work once in a while. Just like if we feel bored in doing something we can check our pet and feed them ;) That's what I do most of the time.

Thanks Fergal ... you reminded me to make time for exercise. For several months I did not have a regular time to exercise. :doh!:

I hope you don't get bored too often, or your pet will develop a weight problem.

If you're really tired of being on the computer, and you don't have to be on for work related reasons, my advice would be to go off and do other things that don't involve a computer. Go and listen to some music on your Ipod or MP3 Player, or go walk around the block or something.
