Anyone have any information or know where I can get information on taxes. I am a website designer, and I know I need to start collecting taxes (if the client decides to write them off). I live in Illinois, if that makes a difference. The reason is, I know that when dealing online, sometime the rules change.

For example, to my knowledge if you sell products online you only have to claim a sales tax (charge a sales tax) to the buyer if they live in a state where you have a facility (aka where you are selling from).

James I'd suggest that you contact the IRS with any questions you have. They should be able to give you specific answers for your exact situation and circumstances.

If you have an accountant it would also be worth speaking to him or her. A good accountant will help you to legally reduce your tax liability.
