Facebook announced that the Promoted Offers will no longer be available after 9th of July.

So, if you are using this feature, you have only a few days left to take advantage of it.

Facebook has advised us to use promoted posts instead.

All I know is, that your promoted content will be easily visible to people on their main pages and it will be suggested even to those, who have no idea about your business.

Promoted offers are usually used to reach a wider audience. For example, if you have a company in London, your ad can be seen by everybody living in this area, on their timeline. You can even choose your ad to be seen on a national level. They incentivize the viewer to buy, as special offers are usually promoted this way (promotional offers, discounts). Promoted offers campaigns usually start from about $50 / campaign and can go up to several hundreds. It is was a good tool when used for branding or acquiring new customers.

Promoted post is a simple post (text or text + image). You can usually promote only to your fans and friends of fans using this method. It should, theoretically, place your ad in front of a smaller but more targeted audience (this is up to you and on how have targeted your fans - that is why I said in other posts here that buying fans it is not a bright idea, even if they are real). Promoted posts are much cheaper than promoted offers, but they reach a smaller audience. The price of a campaign can start from $3-$4.

    So, long story short:
    - promoted offers: wide semi-targeted audience, expensive, used for branding or to promote special offers
    - promoted posts: small but targeted audience, inexpensive, used to promote pretty much anything: news, events, products etc.

To promote your post, just click on Boost Post button on the bottom-right corner of the post (on your business page).
