saniathomas you would get some fans if you posted a link to your fan page at the thread I pointed out to you in the post above. Also what's your opinion on the tips in the Post Your Facebook Business Page Here thread?

By promoting your fan page on blogs, forums and community sites that have members and visitors from the UAE.

I would advise you to make another account and through that account like and join the groups and pages of UAE. Participate in the in the discussions and you will get familiar with the people add them as your friend it will be not difficult as their are many people on the facebook from every region who are looking to increase their contacts so you will find some also there. To increase the fans you can also send message to all the members of some relevant groups with invitation to like your page. The process is little boring and time consuming but at the end it will produce very good results.

I think Fergal very much said everything.
You can also post a Facebook Page Widget on your blog or website to let your visitors know that you have set-up a Facebook page and they can get updated with your site or services even if they are on Facebook.

Another thing is to promote your page to other related pages. Of course, you should be wary of that page's rules and regulations so that you won't get banned or reported as spam.

We have more Facebook fans (518) than members on our forum (164) now that's annoying.

That's not annoying that's pretty normal most of your fans didn't know that they have liked your page like you don't know how many pages you have liked, messages is a good way to communicate with your fans and to motivate them to join your community.

Maybe you should activate the FaceBook Connect feature on your forum. It would make it much easier for your FaceBook fans to join and participate.

It's not that bad. Maybe most of your Facebook fans just read on your forums.
Have you tried checking how much traffic are you getting from your facebook page?

Hi!. On linked in there is a group to share your website on facebook with the people on the group. Maybe this could be another possibility for your question.
    Keep in touch.

    Danette

Lots of info our there right now. Do you include your FB link in other advertising?

Running a contest worked for us, about $50 in wine led to around 600 new fans on our page.

Yes it is. But if you done it right, you'll get more fans on your pages. Which will converted to traffic on your own site.

Here are two ideas from me.

    (1) Create some short time offers to attract more Fans
    (2) You can create short referral offer like: if some one will share your page and suggest it to five friends, he will get some give or voucher. That will become chain actually...

It will definitely hard to track. Fan pages doesn't show who refer your fans or if they access your page directly via any links...

    Hi Fergal, Hi eveyone!

I'm sorry I can't post links. It's in "Internet Marketing" group and the discussion is "Let’s connect on Facebook! Post your Facebook Business page here"

Please, let me know if you could find it.

    Regards,

    Danette

    Fergal,

I found another discussion at Linked in to publish your facebook website.#

It's in "Digital Marketing group". The discussion is "Post your Facebook Business page here! We all know how it can be challenging for a new business to grow a fan base. So let's follow each other's businesses on Facebook".

    Regards,

    Danette
