Veri Sign Inc.'s iDivision found that hackers are lured by facebook and other social networking sites, stealing user information and selling in bundles. In February of this year, iDefence found a particular hacker Kirllos selling user information for 1.5 million facebook users, that's about 0.4% of facebook accounts. For $25, Kirllos sold information of 1000 users with 10 or fewer friends.

What I'd like to know is what Facebook's doing about this and what the consequences have been for this guy. The article's a bit sparse on the details.

This is very scary and disturbing to most users, hope something will be done to the culprits
    Thank you for the info.
In light of this, I read an article yesterday that Ning social network will be phasing out free members by 1 st July. To remain an active member, one has to subscribe a certain fee monthly.
