Interesting question javal3ra, I haven't any experience of doing business with Indonesia. Are there any products or services that Indonesia produces, which you feel would be suited to selling in Ireland / EU?

Before deciding whether to start an import export business, you should consider the following:
FIRST, the price of shipping from your country to other countries. Be sure that it is affordable to your customers.
SECOND, the price of import fees. This includes shipping to your place plus possible customs duties since you are planning on reselling them.
THIRD, price of the actual item. Look for similar competitors and check out the prices on their shops. Be sure that you have a nearly same price for the same item. This way, your customer will choose depend on the service you do.
LASTLY, payment options. You should have all the possible payment options so that more customers will come and buy on your shop.

    Hope that helps.

i don't really know anything about Ireland or EU market taste, what do you think suit for European average market, Fergal?
art product? (wooden made product, traditional far east art) or textile product? (like pillow case, sofa cover, unique handkerchief, or small things like that)

I'll think about that javal3ra. Are there any products or services where you feel Indonesia has particular competitive advantage arising from exceptional quality or low cost production?

art and textile products, mostly like furniture, housing industries grow faster and better in quality but limited in production quantity since it is a housing business.

Thanks javal3ra, unfortunately construction and housing have been hit very hard by the recession in Ireland.

Do you have any links to sites where we can view some of the products available?

Fergal is correct. Exporting furniture set internationally will be a big waste of money since importing of these products is not applicable now since there's a recession. Some Filipino furniture companies filed bankruptcy because of the recession in the US.

Use Internet As The Best way To Research

    Hi,

Now a days doing any type of business either import/export or retail, you have several opportunities to find your desired products and number of suppliers on B2B e-marketplaces. Essentially on these marketplaces, you have liberty to browse range of products with varying price options and it's quite an easy task to place your orders there. One of the B2B e-Marketplace to find your desired product suppliers is trade.indiamart.com
