I have a business name and logo I will be trademarking at some point in the near future, and wondered if anyone has any advice for me please.

I will most likely be looking to register an EU trademark, does this automatically cover me for UK and Ireland?

I have visited that site, along with many others, but it doesn't really answer my question.

Thanks Sahil, but it actually isn't.

The EU represents a collection of countries including the UK and ROI. So my question is slightly different as I want to know if I was to get an EU trademark would it cover me for all countries in the in the EU.

I appreciate the effort you went to, to try and help though.

If it's the Community trade mark you are talking about then I read that yes it works in the Member States of European Union. Here is where I read that - http://www.humphreys.co.uk/trade_marks.htm

    JPM-

I'm a trademark attorney in the US with some knowledge of international trademark law. If you want trademark protection throughout the EU, I would recommend you register a community trade mark (CTM) with the OHIM. This will likely be the quickest, and most cost-effective, way to get EU protection. I hope this has been helpful.
