Has anyone got any advice on the most important items to address in an employment contract when recruiting a sales manager.
It doesnt have to directly relevant to that specific title as I want to address everything.
    Thanks

    Welcome to our Business Forum crafty0001. I'd suggest that an employment contract needs to include the following;

    • Employer name
    • Employee name
    • Job title
    • Salary
    • Starting date
    • Holiday entitlements
    • Sick pay entitlements, if any
    • Working hours
    • Responsibilities
    • Targets
    • Place of work
    • Who the employee reports to
    • Disciplinary procedures
    • Anticipated duration of the contract - temporary or permanent position
    • Details of breaks / rest periods
    • Period of notice to be given by employer and employee
    • Trial period if applicable
    • Confidentiality agreement, if applicable
    • Any stipulations re taking on other contract work outside of working hours
    • Terms relating to working with competitors in the event that the employment ceases
    • Ownership of copyright and intellectual property, if applicable - e.g. if the employee writes sales proposals, they are owned by the employer
