You can use independent contractors for many different tasks such as credit control, virtual assistants, data entry and web design. There's so many ways to keep in touch online that it's not hard to use independent contractors at all nowadays. Simply look for freelancers in whatever field it is you require their expertise in by Googling "freelance + (job type)" and your favored location if you want. You can also find them on dedicated freelance sites like freelancer.com, odesk.com, elance.com or guru.com.

Don't forget to look in the Marketplace on sites like this one too or place your own ad. We have several independent contractors here at BAF. Hope that helps!

An independent contractor can be any one from doing landscaping to an accountant.

The title independent contractor is more of a description that you pay some one to do a service or a job of some sort. That you are paying either a commission, a fee, or in some rare cases both.
