I am starting an online business but I am not a US Citizen or Resident and I understand that I need to get an EIN (Employee ID Number) for tax reasons when I goto setup a business bank account. Now, on the IRS website I can't officially fill in the form to get the EIN number straight away due to not being a US Resident as I don't hold a SSN. It does however say that a nominee can be used that has an SSN. Now can this noimee literally be anyone with an SSN, like my friend (US Citizen) who just does a normal 9-5 job etc or does it have to be an organisation ??? Thanks in advance for your answers.
