It is a must to have at least a degree or a higher level of cert to be able to start your own business?

For me, i think having a cert or without a cert be it how high or low the cert is.. i would say you still can start a business with the correct planning and approached.

To have a business, I believe it's more of a combination of being street smart and having balls. If you look at some of the richest and most successful people in the world, such as Stev Jobs, Jay-Z, Bill Gates, etc., none of them had a degree, but their street smart and having balls to start their own business and risk it all makes them who they are today.

I agree having a cert is no guarantee you will do much higher in business. Many uneducated people are doing great business. Books and reality are completely parallel. A school can only teach principles and ethics but it does not provide the capital nor any shortcut in competing with the competition out there in the world.

It is not necessary that you are graduate or post-graduate for any job.You can start your business even without that but there is a difference between educated and illiterate. The level of success an educated may reach you cannot in that case. Education is must for everything. You may learn new techniques there which are useful in your business and helps in increasing your business.

I agree with the others that a degree is not required for entrepreneurship. However, that doesn't make college or university completely useless. There are other benefits of having such an education. Those years on campus teach one to think and research efficiently. Also, if time is spend in a well balanced way, a lot of social skills can also be developed while on campus. These in turn can help in any field or business in the future as well as in personal life.

One thing to think about is if there is some thought to going to college or university, you definitely want to do it while relatively young. Although it's possible that one can still get a degree at an older age, things are much tougher since the study habits may have relaxed a bit and there are other pressures in life (like families, kids, jobs).

You basically don't want any regrets of not going after a degree if that's in your mind.

Having a cert is not a guarantee that you will land a job or you'll be successful. I know many people that are unemployed that have a cert. Same with people with out a cert. I'm sure every one is aware of successful businessman without a college degree. You just need to wise in doing things.

Cert is a good key to find job, cert determine education and knowledge level. Before we can start own business, we have to work with others to collect experience. Most employer require cert, especially for high post work. Without cert, it increase the difficulty to own a business.

Of course not! A very large % of the world's billionaires have no degree at all (gates, zuckerberg, etc). Besides, logically, if you are starting the business, who is requiring that you have a degree? It is only when you are getting hired by someone else, where it is likely that they will require a degree and certification. Brains, intuition, and instinct are the most important things in business, my friend.

It's not absolutely necessary to have degrees in order to start your business but it may be easier depending on the business you're trying to get into.

If we don't have enough money to own a business, do we need to work with others to save some money and gain those working experience? Gates get the starting capital from family or purely with own pocket money? The number of successor with cert is more than those without cert.

Cert is important key, with the key it will increase the chances to success.

Well having a degree or a certification is an added bonus on the Business Arena. Although, it doesn't give you much of the experience you need to have your own business. You can just have the right idea on what to do when a situation happens that you need to have a really critical decision.

Education may not add any bonus to your business. But it adds thoughts to you. People may look to you in other way when you are an educated person.

Experience on a certain field or career may help you out in getting a job - but having a degree ensures and opens more opportunities to an individual.. Most business these days look for certain people with a good education background - though not from a popular school but at least having their degree or certification. More like an advantage when you are applying for your dream or a better job.

As long as you aren't in a regulated business where licensing requires certain degrees, it's really up to you if you can make the business work. If you are going to work for others, then it depends the field you're in. Some fields are more open minded to non-traditional employees that don't have degrees. Other fields are very conservative and traditional and will probably require one. So you have to be more specific about your plans to know how education will fit into it.

Starting a business is more then just geeting degree. For starting your own business it does not requires a degree. But if you have so it would be very benificial for your expriance.Starting a business involes plans, little experiance.it also needs the combination of street smartness and peaceful mind. But degree for a business is not as important as the sance and interst for business is required.

Is it knowledge in basic skills, academics, technical disciplines, knowledge etc., education system says only the academic basics are important, emphasizing the collection of knowledge without understanding its value.

It depends on what your business is in. It is certainly not a requirement (just look at all the examples listed above). Even though many/most entrepreneurs have a degree, it is often in a field completely unrelated to what their business is. I've started several businesses outside of my degree.
