More and more businesses are becoming savvy when it comes to targeting local terms. 9 out of 10 times the search query is [services]+[city] or [services] in [city], some examples of this might be "car dealers London" or "florists in Birmingham".

So my question is, do you target local terms within your SEO campaign? Any results and success stories would be good as well.

A big factor in local searches is the number of times your business name+address are cited on the web. Maybe more important than anything else.

I actually don't at the moment, because my online sites are global in nature and are not locally targeted. However, if I was selling a product or service to a local market local terms would be extremely important.

It is very depend on target audience, for .com.my I will always target according to city + country. For .com domain I will target generally.

Target SEO campaign locally is more easy to rank well, niche keyword query is more relevant, and conversion rate is more higher. Although the particular long tail keyword generate little traffic.

When a keyword rank well in locally, it will slowly get place at google.com
