For me, I see them crawling pretty much all day everyday, but I never really see any traffic coming in from them. Do you?

Since I don't I took the liberty to block them from crawling. Although it's nice to have thousands and thousands of backlinks from them I can do without them since there's no benefit really.

I know a lot of people that does this but in case any of you wanted to, here is the code to put in your robots.txt file.

    Code:
    User-agent: Slurp
    Disallow: /

I do get traffic from Yahoo, Bing and other search engines although it's really minimal. Maybe 20% or all search engine visits... the remaining 80% are from Google.

Oh, that's actually pretty good. I get absolutely nothing from Yahoo!. Well, I get maybe 5 - 10 visits from them a month. Pretty sad.

Why would you stop Yahoo from crawling your site Jerlene? Surely some visitors from them are better than none and there is always the possibility that your site will improve in their rankings at some time in the future and hence get more traffic for you.

yes, i have some traffic from yahoo search engine but very less, it is about 8% of the search engine traffic, 75 % from google and 12% from Bing, 10% from other search engine. However, i have good traffic from yahoo answer which is 40% of the referrals traffic

We don't get much traffic from bing or yahoo but I would say the traffic we do get is higher quality. We have had almost as many conversions from these sites as we have had from google, for some reason.

when you optimize your keyword on Google search engine other search engine rank your keyword easily because Google optimization is very difficult Google like white hat seo technique so all the search engine like your keyword.

I have same question like Fergal too, it is not a good idea to stop yahoo indexing your site. Today Yahoo and Bing is slow, but it does not mean they will not improve. Who knows future they manage to beat Google?

Yahoo listing your site for free, dont you think it is more effective than any others link building strategic?

    Same question.

What sense does it make to block something that provide a benefit, granted it may be very small, but it's a benefit all the same.

Yahoo and other search engines aren't widely used. I'd stick to google for who I would rely on. I also do not get much traffic from any sites such as Yahoo, Bing, etc.
