I have bounced off of many sites due to choppy video, in other words videos that keep stopping and don't play smoothly. I guess perhaps this could vary due to Internet speed (and my Iternet speed ranges from average to good). But regardless, is there a video software that can host videos on a site and auto-adjust to different people's Internet speeds so that it plays smoothly all the way through? Again, a lot of sites I visit seem to have great videos, but they lose me as a visitor once I have to fight with the choppy video just to struggle and try to see it through. I would never want videos like this on any of my sites which is why I'm asking if there are some solutions.

This could be due server load, streaming scripts are not optimized, db is slow etc...

Are you hosting the videos directly on your own site or using a service such as YouTube or Vimeo? You might be able to improve the display of video on your site by using one of those specialist video hosts.

I usually use Youtube on few of my sites. But I'm not really using a lot of video right now. I'm talking about when I see video on some other people's sites and it looks choppy. Like some of those sales page videos, might be self-hosted I don't know.

I suggest to update your abode flash player. That happens to me way back. All videos including Facebook video are choppy and sometimes it doesn't play. So I just updated my adobe flash player and it works well for me. Try it as well. Good luck..
