I am thinking to start a website about my design niche to earn some income.

What ideas or feedback could you give me on this few point. I will think of more and add in.

    - budget low high?
    - Custom theme ?

If you could give me ideas please just voice it out.

    Thanks.

If the objective of your site is to offer your design services, your potential clients will expect your site to be very professionally designed. They will be unlikely to hire you for design work, unless they are impressed by the design of your portfolio site. So if you go ahead with building the site, spend the time at it and do it to the best of your abilities.

Check out some portfolios (a good site would be the "Envato Marketplace" where people place their portfolios in their profiles) and see the uniqueness and style they achieve. Also, be sure to read up on the latest trends. You wouldn't want to be designing a 20 year old trend nowadays so that can help you.

That's fine 50Cent, no worries at all.

Have a look at some of your competitors sites, especially the higher quality ones. Don't just copy their ideas, but look for ways to improve on their design and aim to make your design more appealing to your target audience, than theirs.
