I have a budget of around $10k and I am interesting in purchasing sites which are established and already making a decent monthly income.

For that budget, what do you think would be the best sites to use and what do you think I should expect in return?

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Flippa is one of the best site
Or you might try on some forum such as digitaalpoint or sitepoint

I agree with Sigma on all those sites. Like he said DP and Sitepoint you have to be wary of. However, Flippa is normally a good site that you get what you pay for. Then again, on Flippa a lot of times you pay more than what you would on the Webmaster Forums. If you choose to look for a purchase via DP or Sitepoint make sure you do all the research necessary to ensure you're getting a good deal and not getting ripped off.

Ok, but that is not what Sigma said - correct me if I am wrong, but I think he said that DP is worth looking at, not that it has scammers.

DP is worth looking at at. Which is why I agreed with him. And even though it is a huge forum with iTrader on it, people still get scammed from there. Not as often as say smaller webmaster forums, but there's still the chance. Which is why I said make sure make sure you do your research on the site(s) that you're planning to purchase. $10k is not a small number to just throw into something that won't produce good revenue back. It's just a safety net. I'm the same way when I decide to purchase a site for $1k.

I would be the same whether it was $100, $1000 or $10,000k so thank you for your advice, much appreciated. I do not intend on taking any decisions lightly without any research.
