Is it helpful to have your own banner adverts on your website with the proper codes available for others to use and take?

Yes it can help, as sometimes your visitors will see something about your site that they like and put your banners on their own site, which obviously helps with your promotion. I do it here on Business Advice Forum. Quite a few of our members have put our banners on their sites, which is excellent and much appreciated.

I think it is not better, how ever you can place special offers or budged offers on your product right on the banner.

Typically the header area is prime real estate so to speak so it depends on what your site is about. Its a prime area to advertise something or have a call to action. If you want to build traffic to your site then yes maybe offering it it a good thing. Make sure its clear though that is what you are doing. No point in putting your banner there is people dont know why.

If you are selling products or something like that then I'd see adding your banner as a waste of valuable space that could be used more wisely.

    Hope that helps
    Regards

no, the idea is to share links, not to advertise your own ads on your site.

I would have a page dedicated to methods of promoting your website. You could have the Twitter or Facebook links and then the HTML code for your graphics or links, as well as a few reasons as to why you need this promotion.
