I don't understand, when site traffic was very few then Alexa is increasing very rapidly but when have the heavy duty traffic then Alexa going down quickly. I can't find out the reason.

Anyone have any idea about this?

Alexa rank is mostly dependent on how many users accessing site have installed Alexa Tool in there browser
I have seen sites having traffic of just 1000 visitors / day - on SEO & Hosting - ranking at 7000 in Alexa and sites with traffic of 5000 visitors / day on Food, Health etc are ranking 1,00,000

Reason - Most of the people viewing site 1 have alexa toolbar installed and are associated in some way with web development. For Site 2, the users are more common users who are least bothered to install any additional toolbar.

Thus - my suggestion is to ignore Alexa ranking completely. Its much vague

Alexa is good tool too, you cant ignore the Alexa. But the most accurate, you may need to see your google analytics. How is your traffic? If the traffic is still the same, please just ignore the Alexa score.

    Hi!
I think you shouldn't ignore it. Try to improve the rank,do the following:
-Make sure that your site is optimized for the search engines.
-Build on your site on original and unique content.
-Submit your site to social bookmark sites
-Update your site by adding new content that keeps users returning to your site.

What is wrong with this? When the traffic increases the rank is supposed to lower. What do you mean when you say Alexa dropping? Is the rank going from 2000 to 1000 when the traffic increases? If yes, then this is a good thing.

Even you don't need to think about Alexa as they are fail to judge a website estimate traffic, I have two blogs one has less traffic and the another have 20X but alexa still showing the first one up.... WTF

    Hi Rocky,

I mean when my site traffic was a very few the my Alexa was 1000 (As of your example) but when it start getting a stranded number of search traffic along with referral traffic then its rank is 2000.
