Most forums are built using PHP. If you want to set-up a forum you should seriously consider using an existing forum software package. If you want free software have a look at http://www.phpbb.com/, if your prepared to pay for a solution, consider vBulletin. Both of these packages are built using PHP.

do you know how to programme PHP?

Yeah As Fergal said, Most of forums now are build in php because it's safer and strong than a html forum. If you are looking for a html forum, you can check it and get an account for free here.

I believe Php is the one of the secured coding program to built any program in web interface. There are many forum softwares that are actually built in Php format. Also, you get security on forum with actual php coding.

There are many captcha or security plugins/softwares to protect your forum from unnecessary hunt from spammers.

Most forums online use PHP. If vBulletin doesn't interest you, and you want to spend money, you could look at IPB

And actually, that's a vBulletin forum with a SEO package installed. This SEO uses a .htaccess file to redirect .php linsk to .html among alot of things.

You can see it is vBulletin if you click "View Page Info" on FireFox and scroll to "Generator" also, it says in the footer:

    Powered by vBulletin® Version 3.6.7

HTML Forum is a forum about HTML, not a forum built with HTML :)

Hamzo, are you planning on building your own forum using PHP?

Why not use one of the ready made form software packages?
