How many members and posts do you think is needed to be an active forum.

i think it needs to have at least one thousand members and at least have 100-300 posts daily.

It doesn't matter how much posts and members you have. That's not what determines the activeness of a forum. It's how many posts and members you receive in a certain amount of time. If you get over a hundred posts a day then your forum is active.

To say that a forum is active, it must have an active moderators and members. The quantity of forum posts determines if it is active or not. Just like what Jerlene had said, if you can get hundreds of posts in a day, then your forum is active. New thread or answers to thread is what we considered as posts.

I'll agree with Jerlene and ladydeluxehotel. 300 posts per day is way too much activity I don't think many forums are any where near this figure. I have seen a forum with such activity but the moderators and the admin are way too much vain and thus I had to dump it. But how can a forum achieve such activity?

it doesn't maters whether how many post or how many members you have. i think its the information on your forum that internet users find it useful.

Whether or not a forum is active is very much a subjective view. The owner, staff and members of a forum relating to a very specific niche might consider it active if it gets 40 on topic posts per day, whereas those associated with a large off topic forum might consider anything less than 2,000 posts per day to be inactive. The important thing is to know what your own objectives are for your forum and then to work towards achieving those.

It doesn't really matter on the number of daily posts.
All you need is having active members posts daily on your forums no matter how many posts your forum got.

As long as the forum have active member and daily quality post, then it considered as active forum.
There are many forum with only spamming posts, it not considered as active forum although daily have over 100 spamming postS

It's sad when I see people making topics like this. A unique forum is one that doesn't have a mass amount of posts, but the uniqueness and maturity of the posts it does have.
