I think it is not possible.. We can not die. Human can not be God who can tell when the earth is going to die.

You are right. Besides, aren't the so called "experts" predicted that the world will end on Y2K (Year 2000)?

I think if the world really was going to end then why would people be making movies, books etc about it? Wouldn't they be worried there will be no life in that year so why 'brag' about it in movies and books.

Don't believe a word of it.

They are making money off certain things that are widely spread in the internet.

What I meant was if the world was ending wouldn't people be trying to do something with their lvies before it ended instead of making movies, books.

I like the film ---2012, I always have a questio, if the story about the earth is true? What I can do is living happyly everyday, and maybe try my best to do something. No matter what it happens, we must live contiune. But if we are harm to the earth in this way, one day, we will lose the beautiful world.

The Mayans had many many different calendars. Someone selected the one that ends on Dec 21, 2012 as the most recent bugaboo. I remember as 1999 wound down, everyone (myself included) freaking out about the impending Y2K disaster. I agree with everyone here: if it happens, it will be beyond my control so why worry about it?

These constant reminders serve one worthwhile end goal: to encourage us to live life richly for today. Carpe diem, all!
