I'm a big fan of TED talks. This new one from Sheena Iyengar on the art of choosing is very entertaining. Her research shows amongst other things the differences between American and Asian cultures when it comes to what influences their choices.

Interesting video, worth a watch. It's not something she discusses directly but I've previously seen how giving someone too much choice can result in losing a sale. If you give a prospective customer too much too think about, they may delay making a decision, which can result in them not buying from you at all. Sometimes it's better to give less choice and make things easy for the customer.
What did you learn from the video Kay, that you can apply to your own life of business? __________________ Fergal Crawley - Connect with me on - FaceBook | Twitter | Linked In Business Advice Forum, Ask Business Questions on our Business Forum! | Rules & Disclaimer | $20,000 in Prizes Purpose: To help our members be the best they can be and make the world a better place! Suppose we are alone in an island, full of resources around for survival, but all alone, what do we want to be? The situation decides, what we do, and we do it, to be(there)!
This indecisiveness and search of 'what to be' is a bit subtle. If not handled carefully, it can lead to under-utilisation of our true potential, discontentment with what ever we do (due to the lingering doubt) etc. The seeking of our identity and a name tag or recognition is what drives us thus. |
