UpCycle Your Old Clothes

Mail your old sweater to Reknit and they will use the material to create a new scarf for you, all for a fee of $30. This is an interesting concept in recycling and is a much better option than binning your old clothes. However, I suspect some people would find it cheaper to give their old sweater to a charity shop and purchase a new scarf.

What about you, would you use their service?

$30? That's quite expensive since we already provide the material and shipping to their place. By the way, is the shipping back to you is free or you need to add a certain amount?

I've asked Reknit the question on their FaceBook wall and given them a link back to this thread. Hopefully they will answer soon.

Yeah $30 is too much expensive and moreover they will also be saving on the material too as scarf needs much less material than that of sweater..even if sweater is old, that doesn't means that it has decreased in value ..it has just worn up from your mind only!!!

I would not be using their service under any condition..to be very frank and straight!!!

GekiDan, they haven't answered me on FaceBook or Twitter yet. Perhaps they are off for the weekend and we will hopefully get an answer during the week.

I liked this service. Get new clothes by giving your old clothes. Some people just throw there old clothes in junkyard But it's quit profitable to get new clothes for just the old clothes which you don't wear. Nice sharing Fergal.

ReKnit have replied to my question on Twitter re delivery charges, as follows;
