    Why is Google going up?

So,why do you think google is going up and why not facebook/twitter/microsoft?

    For me:
I like Larry's "google more than Zukerburg's "facebook" because google keeps on developing and it is never done. They built search engine, youtube, webmaster tools, translator, android, maps, still they are developing and yes it is never done.
But,what does facebook do?yey, they have the only "social network" but what's next??What are the progress in developing they made in these 2-3years? I haven't seen any new things and still they are working....
And now the time is moving too fast. Google sees "IPhone" going progressive so it built "Android", it sees "win 8" coming so it is developing "chrome OS", it knows browser has power and it will somehow determine what/how you wanna see web seeing "mozilla" so it built "chrome".
So, google is far more ahead and creative and nothing gonna catch it, not facebook nor microsoft.

I assume you mean those respective companies' stock value. If so, it's because they make more money. You also can't really compare Google to Twitter or Facebook. They are not in the same business. Microsoft is, but not entirely. Google is basically a search engine while Microsoft is primarily a software company who happens to own a search engine.

Google has also been very smart on building its brand and followers. Basically, it's offering something for free. In return, people use them and will eventually generate revenue. This of course is primarily clicking on ads. It works for them.

Microsoft doesn't give away software. It wouldn't work for them anyway. Their search engine is also free and also generates advertising revenue. However, they are nowhere near offering what Google does, all those freebies. They are also for the most part not viewed as the best search engine offering the most relevant results.

Facebook and Twitter are also free but are one horse shows. They're not even search engines so you can't compare to Google. Their advertising model is nowhere near Google's. Neither it appears will offer search on their sites in the foreseeable future. What they need to do is follow Google's lead with free offerings such as maps and the other things you mentioned. Even Microsoft does little of that. Google is progressive, rich and getting richer, like it or not.

    Speaking of Google and FaceBook, they are different businesses but they are moving much closer to becoming the same type of business;

    • They both compete for highly targeted online advertising revenue
    • Google has launched Google Plus as a social networking service
    • FaceBook is already doing a billion searches per day and there is talk of them starting a search engine.

I suppose the real reason Google's valuation is going up is because they know how to provide an excellent user-friendly service to their users and they know how to make huge profits from providing that service.

    Adding some more text,
Let twitter out of all this, it has no future anymore.Nothing can be expected from it more than celebrity/leaders news.

Google is search engine but it has never used its SE for advertising its own other products like youtube/android. Excluding people who spend more time in webs no users surfing in youtube knows it is the product of google nor 40% or more android users knows.Google most of the projects and plans are going on self. Well, microsoft has than money and even facebook does but where are they?

My main focus is that, facebook is #2 website in terms of visitors but where it is going? What it is doing?nothing?

Because Google has a much stronger revenue model. AdWords makes them a fortune on nearly every search. Facebook? Not so much.

The purpose of FB involve IPO is to get all capital and expend market to offer other services. In compare Facebook is still a young company, it is important for Zukerburg's to establish the company in social media, avoid Google+ take over. Beside search, after acquire instagram FB is in beta stage to release Facebook camera, which will be convenient for FB fans upload photo.

Let twitter out of all this, it has no future anymore.Nothing can be expected from it more than celebrity/leaders news.
Before that I also thought twitter do nothing, till a day I found out that twitter is involve in github project for bootstrap framework (frame work to create responsive website).

It's all about the money. Google makes piles of it, Facebook makes a little and Twitter has never turned a profit. If Facebook can develop proven recurring revenue streams, it will do all right, but so far it is far from proving that it can beat Google in the advertising market.

As for Twitter, I do use it but it has no clear purpose. For example, I follow a few local sports teams on Twitter but the posts are so irregular and so limited by the 140 character restriction that it is not a useful way to check the scores or stats. Instead, I go to the web or to an app on my phone. I have serious doubts that Twitter will have long term viability as a free-standing company.

Google has no one to compete. Almost 60% of the market hold by Google . Google keeps on developing every time. They built search engine, youtube, webmaster tools, translator, android, maps, still they are developing. These thing put Google on top among others .

Only one answer, the BIG G has adwords the best PPC advertising platform on the net. Moreover google's search reach has incredibly increased.
Everybody knows that google makes quick decisions regarding their competitors as the results are Google plus, Android , chrome and chrome OS.

You don't need to compare Google and Facebook. Google are number 1 in Search Engine, and Facebook is number 1 in social networking site. Google eve try to compete with it with Google+ but nothing happens.

I have a Facebook account but I don't use it much. I've never noticed being able to search there other than for people. I'm sure they could become a true search engine but they have a long way to go to match Google and others. I don't think it would work for them anyway. That's not why people use FB. Therefore, their core business (and user expectations) is different than Google.

That Google does not use its SE for their own products is irrelevant. That's not their goal. Their goal is to be the best search engine out there, to be the one most people use for whatever they are looking for. They monetize it by providing advertising.

That is the unique part about twitter, because it summary all the important content in 140 character. For people who have limited time to read all important information, twitter is a very media to broadcast the information.
