How important is the page title?
There are a few clarifications that I require about the title of a web page. What is the relevance and significance of a page title and how much time does it take to become operative? Is there any kind of symbol or a specific word limit with which I should be familiar? If this is the case then what are the things that I should remember while creating a web page? Is it true that adding a keyword to the title helps to increase the competence and the productivity of the website? In fact, all that my client needs is to increase traffic. How can I change the length under such circumstances?

Different search engines have different length limitations on what they will include in the title and different browsers have different lengths on what they will display. A safe bet is to limit the length to 65 characters (including spacing).
Another thing about page titles is that there is some strongly held opinion that the first words in a page title have more weight with the search engines than the words near the end of the title. I don't know if that is true, but both for that reason as well as to improve the usefulness for your reader, you should put the most important part of your title first. For example, if you want the name of your company or website to appear in the title of every page, it should come at the end of the title. An example would be "How to Select the Right Widget | Universal Widget Co." rather than "Universal Widget Co. | How to Select the Right Widget".

The Page title is extremely important. You can see Google highlight this tag in the search results. It's perhaps the most important place to have the keyword.

1. I do agree that page title will play some role in SEO. But you cannot say TITLE always plays role in SEO.
2. Title should have 60-70 Characters - But not that, the exact title will not be shown in Google, As Google have the rights to change your site title for its SERP (Ex: Shown 1.1)
3. Title can be filled with Keywords, but not necessary. (Ex: 1.2)
In the above image, the title of the website is mentioned as LethimStay.com in Google, but the original Title is "Home Improvement Tips and Guides"
In the above Image, if you search in Google for "Click Here" The Adobe Results will be shown on top, which was not optimized in title for "Click Here" at all. So this shows that we no need to have keywords in the title if we build strong back links.
However, it is necessary to be least imperfect in Google, so we are in need to fulfill all of its algorithm as much as possible.

It's highly important since it is the first interaction the surfer has with your website / service. within as little as 5 sec you should impress the surfer / catch his eyes and yet has to be relevant and unique, hence its importance.

Your page title should also be relevant to the content of your page. Aside from that, it has to be easy to remember.

The page title is the most important on-page SEO factor. Google and the majority of major search engines place a great deal of weight on this on-page element, in fact more so than any other on-page element. Optimizing a Title for maximum benefit in SEO is a relatively simple process, however you are still well advised to abide by the following guidelines when doing so.
