Yes, it is cheap, i actually bought a 2.2 android tables one year ago as gift to some one, it is only USD70, this kind of technology product's price is keep dropping. hard to imagine if it could match people`s basic require,i worked in a tablet factory which made the cheapest tablet as sigma said.actually you only could use it as a basic tablets,for browsing online or other simple application
Aakash tablet works very slow so it'a not very good product.

I have an Aakash Tablet. Its quality is very similar to its price. It's touch is very poor and the RAM is also very slow. iPAD and Galaxy TAB are the best.

I actually bought a coby kyros last month and it only cost around $110. I like it but would still be interester If its released in our country.
Akash tablets has already been launched in India. You can buy it from the online stores like naaptol, ebay, etc.
