IF you do not know how to code then it is a good option to make your site in WordPress. Lots of plugins and template designs so it is very easy to do. Do not try to get fancy and use flash or something that may look cool but really be a distraction to your customers.

A friend of mine swears by Xoops and has set it up for at least three of his friends who are all very much non-technical. I've used it and its a little too simple for my tastes, but I can definitely see the appeal for a non-technical person.

Google spreadsheet is now very much popular. It is great to use online data stored on Google cloud server. Google provides the API to integrate onto any site. So the moment you hire PHP programmer, do not forget to ask if they know how to integrate this application in your site with the help of "Zend Gdata" so that you can use it will full addition, alteration and deletion through PHP application.

For prospective clients, the idea of being able to develop a Web application once and deploy it in multiple user environments is an appealing one. However, the pace of change in the mobile market makes strategic planning very difficult.

If you're not of a programmer or have knowledge in web developing itself I prefer that you should try wordpress or other CMS like Joomla.

The considerably most useful language in developing a website were Visual Basic in any version, PHP and C++ language.
These best fit for those program codes minded people. But for those who were not into programming skills, best to have website customization is through wordpress application .

Add me on as another Wordpress supporter. I think it can do almost anything a basic website needs to do with plugins and so on. If you need something extremely complicated then I'm not sure. But for most of us Wordpress does the job well.
