Dang. People get killed because of this nonsense protest that are used by opportunistic people to do crimes...
I hope it won't spread to other countries so no more innocent people will put into trouble.

I can't see how it would spread to other countries to be honest.

The video below shows them attacking a group of teenagers who were apparently trying to flee from the riots. Reports say that none of the youths they attacked were arrested.

I saw that video on BBC news yesterday, I was surprised to hear they hadn't been arrested. I'm not sure what my emotions are about it to be honest, I have friends who have been affected by this back at home, and i'd love to say I don't like what they did - but I don't know the context of the siutation. However, Manchester Police are notoriously tougher than some other cities.

The BBC report on the video also used the word "context" when seeming to rationalise the police actions. However, the video clearly shows that the people being attacked posed no threat to the police, hence the police were not forced to use violence in any form of self defence. I can't imagine any context that would justify the police acting in such an aggressive manner?

    I also think that the quote below, that I saw posted on FaceBook, is very interesting;

    The police are taking backhanders
    The MPs are fiddling expenses
The media break the law without compunction
The bankers have looted our economy
Our politicians are sunning themselves in luxury
How do you expect young people to behave?
Honestly I'm not justifying the rioters or looters and I do feel very sorry for the individuals and businesses affected by it. What I do feel is that it is time that governments and bankers were held accountable for their actions.

I take your point about lack of justification and would tend to agree, I just need to know more.

As for the Facebook comment, politicians are aloud holidays just like you and me! Yes the bankers should have been made accountable for their actions but I don't believe you can blame the actions of mindless idiots on those problems, the way some of these muppets have acted for years has nothing to do with those issues, it's been building for 10 years plus.

I feel sorry for Scotland just as much as I do for the citizens of the UK. We're stealing their police.

The police admitted they got their riot tactics wrong, the prime minister has said, as he announced measures to help homeowners and businesses.

David Cameron told MPs the riots in cities across England were "criminality pure and simple", but there were "far too few police" on the streets.

He announced a crackdown on facemasks and a review of curfews during an emergency recall of Parliament.

More than 1,500 arrests have been made since the unrest began on Saturday.

The prime minister earlier chaired a meeting of the government's emergency committee Cobra to discuss the violence with cabinet ministers.

If not handled as soon as possible, it could affect nearby countries...
I'm kinda sorry for those who are affected by this riots. Nothing can be achieved through violent means. I mean, there's a peaceful way to protest and be heard, yet they end up doing violent acts.
