My Internet connection has been running a little slower than usual recently. How can I test or view my connection speed from my PC? I'd prefer not to use an online speed test.
Thanks!

Well you always download a Bandwidth Meter. It really helps

Thanks for the suggestion. Can you recommend a particular one, any chance of a link?
Thanks again!

Me too... that's the first time I've heard of a bandwidth meter. Anyway, I googled bandwidth meters and found out that there are already add-ons made for Mozilla Firefox.
You can try the two Bandwidth Meter add-ons below.
Bandwidth Meter and Diagnostics 1.1 (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2450)
Broadband Speed Test and Diagnostics 1.1 (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2360)

Thanks Nazreen, I've tried the second one - ..Sped Test ..
It says my upload speeds are slow but download speeds appear to be fine.

Hi smudgey, welcome to Business Advice Forum and thanks for the link, that's a very impressive and useful site. You can see my results below.
BTW, you will be able to post links when you've made a couple more posts, we had to disable them for new members because of the amount of SPAM we were getting from bots.

Speedtest.net is the site I use for testing my download and upload speeds as well. Wow Fergal, you have a 4Mbps download speed and you're complaining about its slowness :o
Here's my results:

That is a good site indeed, but how accurate is it? This was my result...

And I know that I've loaded Flash files that were just a couple of megabytes and it did not load them up within a couple of seconds... but I just tried another site, http://myspeed.visualware.com/, and it basically said the same thing. Does anyone know why that is?
