Suggestion: Recent Posts on Sidebar

I'm just wondering if we can add a sidebar here in BAF like this:

That screenshot if from a large forum dedicated to Japanese entertainment, Henshin Justice Forums (http://forums.henshinjustice.com), that I'm active into.

The sidebar contains an Adsense tower advertisement and a Recent Posts widget. I find it very helpful since I can see which threads have recently replied on without going to the homepage or the new posts area. It can also help a member jump from one thread to another without any hassle.

What do you think?
