I ever got method of brainstroming in building of organization. I think this way is useful in business. The method of this brainstroming is SWOT ( Strengths, Opportunities, Weaknesses and Threats). Below are the explantion of the SWOT method :

* Strengths: The capabilities, resources and advantages of an organization.
* Weaknesses: Things the organization is not good at, areas of resource scarcity and areas where the organization is vulnerable.
* Opportunities: The good opportunities open to the organization, which perhaps exploit its strengths or eliminate its weaknesses.
* Threats: Things that can damage the organization, perhaps as people exploit its limitations or as its environment changes.

You can analyze the four factor to get your success in the business or organization.

You mentioned "SWOT in building of business". Since you're just starting your business, what's your basis in determining the Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats of the organization? Do you look into organizations that are in the same business as the one you want to build?

Or maybe, I misunderstood... Maybe you meant "building up your business" as in improving or making your business better.

If you are starting a business it can be useful to do a SWOT analysis of yourself in relation to the business. Write down the strengths and weaknesses you bring to the business.

Knowing yourself is a very important requirement for your success. Writing down your weaknesses doesn't have to be a negative thing. It will help you identify areas for improvement or areas where you need some outside help.

Well that's correct. Aside from doing SWOT analysis on your organization, you can also do it on your competition.

With regards to the weaknesses of the competition, we must read the negative comments posted against the competition to see what they're doing wrong and to find ways so that we can offer better products and service.
