I've recently acquired TimeMachiner.com (http://www.timemachiner.com/). The concept of the site is very simple. It allows you to send emails at a specified date in the future.
The site has had a very successful launch and got lots of publicity in popular blogs and even some publicity in national newspapers. This publicity all came free of charge.
I'm determined to keep building on this exposure and would very much welcome any suggestions you may have of low cost ways to promote it?
Thanks!

I think that this website will be very popular with the young generation - kids, teenagers and young adults. Have you ever heard of a "school time capsule" where students put personal belongings in them and open it only several years later? I think it's the same idea as TimeMachiner but instead of personal belongings, it would be emails.
Why don't you try to get free media coverage for TimeMachiner.com. You can try advertising on the following:
- College Campus radio stations and newspapers
- Local or free newspapers
- In the internet, school e-zines
- Internet business talk shows

yes that is good idea. In internet business the useful service of website for the internet community is the best marketing. The internet community will promote mouth by mouth via email, IM, malinglist, forums or blog.

Thanks everyone for your replies. We don't publish what anyone has written and all users privacy is respected.
Thankfully the site has already got some free media coverage and hopefully this will continue. There are posts made on different blogs about this service almost everyday.

Aside from creating squidoo lens, you can also submit timemachiner in directory listings like dmoz (http://www.dmoz.org/). You can also write articles in ezinearticles (http://ezinearticles.com/), goarticles (http://www.goarticles.com/) and/or isnare (http://www.isnare.com/).

looks more like a reminder kind of a machine . Its very useful if you have a very busy schedule or you are very forgetful.
can be used for both amusement and business needs ...

I'm not sure if this is a good way to remind yourself of your appointments and business schedule. It's better to use Tasks, Calendar or CRM (Customer Relationship Management) softwares to do this.
But for reminding your business contacts, I think this is feasible. You can use timemachiner to remind your contacts or leads of any future appointments.

I have seen one of these before. They are great if you need a reminder. The problem is for me is that I never really read emails.

I read on one of the blog, called "Mouth-to-Mouth Advertising". When there is publicity of website in the mouth of people, they get shared with other people very easily and get reminded for many times.
Have you ever heard about mouth-to-mouth advertising? It’s when you say your website to someone so that he’ll visit(in real life, in person) and you also ma say to him, if you like it tell your friends about it too.
That’s definitely the most cost-effective way to get some traffic usually from your area and country!
I have been doing some sort of a little experiment over the last months which only recently has shown its very good results.
I was telling my website to some friends and told some of them to promote it if they like it. Well those who were not interested at my articles, unfortunately didn’t ever come back. Though there were some who not only liked my posts but also promoted it too!
So just by referring to some good friends(i thank them all) i managed to get in the top 1000 of websites my country’s internet users visit, according to alexa.
Right now i get around 20 visitors daily that are from my country and my area. Couldn’t hope for something better as that way i didn’t spend any money at all and got a good amount of traffic. Though mouth-to-mouth advertising is not enough itself to get you traffic and visitors. Quality and attractive content is needed to keep the interest on and visitors coming back!
I would also suggest to use the mouth-to-mouth advertising method to targeted traffic(only people that may have some interest in your articles/content) because they’ll be the ones that will share your link and visit again
So what are you waiting for? Give it a try! Start with your best friends and hopefully you;ll get a good result yourself too!

Right now i get around 20 visitors daily that are from my country and my area. That really is very little traffic. A lot of those visits probably come directly from the owner of the site, checking it out and updating it.

The amount of traffic also has to be weighed by the efforts put in to advertising and the age of the site.

pendelton, you're right but these days Age of site doesn't matter. I've seen new websites with new concept getting popular in less time. So, traffic matters with the contents of website and yes the advertisement.

I think I've read somewhere that Google is also planning to take into consideration the domain age in the page rankings. I'm not sure if this is already implemented or not though. Anyway, website content and advertising are basically the main factors that will increase the traffic on any website.

Yuck about Google, nasty idea.
DEADMAN, the age of a site does have something to do with it. If a site is one month old it has not had the time to develop good back links, word of mouth, and that sort of support needed to pull in a top place in the SERPS.

I'm thinking really big for TimeMachiner. I heard this kind of system for the first time on Hostbidder. I'm pretty sure, this system gets good reputation in the market in the near days. The only thing is it needs to advertised to many people as posisble so that they can give it a try. And also at business purpose, as many people getting busy these days and they can use this system to save their time alot more in the future and do their business more forward. However this system is totally new, and when it is discovered by many people, I'm sure some may pay for using it too especially who are more at Business.

pendeltion, I don't totally disagree with you but Popular website may not have good back links, word of mouth, and that sort of support needed to pull in a top place in the SERPS at the beginning but these are the services they can maintain very quick, if they're really meant to get popular.

Target this product to busy business people who have no much time. So that in their free time they can pretype emails and send it across to specified people on a specified date.

I think this is a great idea but in order for this to work, timemachiner should also be upgraded so that it can send to multiple addresses at the same time. This will save time if you want to send to several people.
I've just tried entering two email addresses in timemachiner but it said that I messed up in sending to the future. :)

In addition services like attachments of photos, files and databases essential for business work and creation can be beneficial.
Sending Birthday wishes with cards, Anniversary Days and so on can be fruitful for those business people who are busy and are unable to take out time for their families and Also to people who often forget their specials days. :)
