I like the look of some of the new forums but I think there is too many.
These forums...
Member Ads & Marketplace
Income & Business Opportunities, Sell Your Business
Plug Your Website
Affiliate Links & Referal ID's
... are all quiet similar, so perhaps just have one main forum and a few sub forums?
Also, just a small thing, you have some ands as "and" and some as "&" if that makes sense.
Good seeing a move like this though, and if it turns out that making one forum is a bad move it doesn't matter too much. :)

Thanks for the suggestions and feedback Keaton. I'll pay careful attention to those "&'s" and "and's" when adding the new forum titles and descriptions, thanks for that. I may well use sub-forums for the new advertising sections.
Anyone else?

Here's what I think:
The new section seems very ok for me and it great describes the different branches of business.
But here's what needs to be changed:
The "Your Business News & Press Releases" section can be a sub forum of "Plug Your Website" while "Income & Business Opportunities, Sell Your Business" and "Affiliate Links & Referral ID's" can be under "Member Ads & Marketplace". The "Articles & Tutorials" can be a different section.
PS: You are missing an "R" on the "Referral"
That's what I think.

Thanks for the feedback and suggestions GekiDan, I will take all that on board. Spelling error fixed, silly me. :clown:

I was going to suggest more or less what was already suggested apart from doing away with Your Business News and Press Releases altogether, rather than having it as a subforum of Plug Your Website. All those posts could just go in Plug Your Website.

Thanks for the suggestions and feedback Kay. I plan to get the new forum structure up in the next couple of weeks.

I like the new structure. Overall its important to keep the parts where people mainly self-promote themselves seperate from the areas for deeper content and business advice.
I think the online business forum section would benefit from additional subsections.
- HTML
- Java, CSS and scripting
- Search Engine Optimisation (SEO)
- Site Critiques
I would remove "Make Money online" from that section as a similar section is already in the Free Advertising Forums section. This is the kind of section that will attract spammers and those are best kept to their own little naughty corner.
Great work on the site. It is continuing to grow and become ever more interesting.

Thanks a lot for your helpful suggestions and feedback mv5869.
Do you feel that "Search Engine Optimisation (SEO)" would be covered by the "Online Marketing, Promotion & SEO" forum?
To be honest I'm reluctant to include separate forums for "HTML" and "Java, CSS and scripting". The discussion on BAF is mostly business focused and although we welcome discussion on coding etc, I'd be concerned that if we created separate sections for each of those, that the individual sections would not be very busy. All coding discussion could be held in the proposed "IT, Website Development, E-Commerce & Making Money Online" section.
Your points on making money online discussions are interesting. I had originally suggested the following two forums;
Online Marketing, Promotion & SEO
IT, Website Development, E-Commerce & Making Money Online
Based on what you are suggesting maybe they would be better split up in the following way;
1. Online Marketing, Promotion, SEO & Making Money Online
2. Website Development, E-Commerce & IT
The first forum would be for business and promotion topics and the second would be for technical, development / coding discussion.
I really would like to get members' opinions on this, so please post back to let me know what you think.
Thanks!

fergal, recently I saw quite a lot of member BAF doing business in stocks, forex, etc.. is it possible to provide a new subforum to discuss about the business at this forum? may be under "Business Advice & Business Questions" or "Online Business Forum". what do you think?

Thanks chrisdina, I suppose I had felt that those discussions could be kept in the "Free Business Advice & New Business Ideas" section. Do you feel that a separate section for them would be required?

I'm not so sure whether it is now time to be given a separate section. I felt enough to be in "Free Business Advice & New Business Ideas" section. there may be other opinions from other members?

Thanks Chrisdina, if those types of discussions become more popular in the future, we can create a separate section for them then.

How about adding a graphics forum in which people could exchange ideas on their graphics?
Or a Website review section...
