You read that and went, What the heck would I want to do that for?

You would not want to do that, but, sometimes you need a little reverse psychology to get people to click a link, and you clicked.

Do not take my advice on this, after all, you could have people reading sales pages that you make wondering what the heck you are going on about. How to lose money, reduce sales.

If you are not an internet marketing guru do not read any further.

Now what would I have to say only to them, could it be interesting? I have got to find out. Oh, wait, I have to type it first....

You can use a lot of simple wording tricks to get people to read what you want them to, not what they want themselves to, and that is your job in marketing. Without marketing there can be no sales.

Very clever, phrase and method for grabbing attention. I must try to remember that for sales letters and promotional materials.

So this is for making attention? If so I would suggest using something differnt. Stuff like this is used all the time. Not eaxactly the same, however something on a simular level.

The point to all of the threads I do is to make one think, giving people ideas to change to suit their needs.

The other point is you clicked to see what I was talking about.

Have you ever found a link saying "Don't click this Link? I would bet that you also clicked on the link, right? Well, this is one of the many reverse psychology techniques that internet marketers use to get traffic to their business site. Do you know why it works? It works because it's like you're challenging or daring your customers to do something risky. It's just like gambling and a lot of people are addicted to it not just because of the money but mainly because of the thrill.

There's actually a term for this now. It's called Anti-marketing. The best example of this would be American Idol judge Simon Cowell. If you're a fan of the show, you probably think that he's the rudest and most cruel person in the whole galaxy especially if he made some rude comments to your favorite contestant and reduced her to tears. But why do you think are you and millions of people out there still watching the show? It's not because of Paula Abdul I'm sure, who always says "Oh, you look handsome tonight", "I like your dress", and all that nonsense. It's because of Simon Cowell!!! Without him, the show wouldn't have been the Number one show in America!

I've sometimes seen those "Don't click this link" links. I've known it to be a marketing ploy but just haven't been able to help myself from clicking. Great example Nazreen.
