What would make anyone, big or small wanna advertise their products on a business networking site for youths? What do they look for?
Should I just approach them and say the site offers advertising ?

It depends on what the site looks like, what the actual content is like, who the users of the site are and the site traffic. They would also look at the pricing, size, length of the advertising. They will want to work out what their return on investment could potentially be. If you can answer all of these questions at the same time as contacting them you have a chance of getting them to place adverts.

The short answer is - if they believe they can make profitable sales by advertising on your site. If your site reaches their target audience in sufficient numbers and they feel that they can profit from advertising with you, they are likely to be interested.


What do they look for?...

Profile of your site visitors including such things as geographic location and demographics (age, sex, etc.) Cost of advertising. Fit between your site and their brand image.


Should I just approach them and say the site offers advertising ?...

If you have enough traffic to justify ad sales, then do your preparation and make a pitch. You've noting to lose, the worst they can do is say no.

You could also consider generating revenue through an ad or affiliate network.
