Reverse Psychology

Why is this thread a waste of time? Well it isn't really, but you clicked and are reading this, so it worked.

This is another method to drive traffic to your site. Using the forum as an example Fergal could say, Do not read the Business Advice Forum if you know it all.

The know it alls will click just to see what they may not know, because everyone with a bit of brain power knows they do NOT know it all. They may act differently though.

For SEO people you could do something like, If you are happy with the traffic you have, and do not want a lot more, do not hire me.

If you like doing things your way do not buy my software that will make all your tasks easier.

So, there you don't have it, and do not waste time posting to this this thread. ;)

I might try that line to promote this forum some day :)

Looking after children is a good way to learn about reverse psychology and using it makes the lift of many a parent that little bit easier.

Wow that's the third time I have replied to something like this today. :p Anyways I knew it was going to be exactly what it was. I was right as well. But I still clicked and checked.

That's the good thing about this.

I had a little streak of wanting to push out more ideas for people to use, changing to what feels right for them.

You know, you are right. It seems like these lines are being used more and more each day. Especially on April Fools :P

Anyways, the line tricked me. And I might use this in a blog or something.

lol, Connnerr, I did not even realise the day I did this on.

All marketing tactics get used to death, when they work, but, like fashion, everything comes back. Go to the local library and read newspapers from the 1900's, say every five years, and see the different methods used, making notes as you find them. You may rediscover some real gems that may not have been used in years, or, you could come up with a new idea combining methods the old methods.

Another thing to consider is that there are well over 1,000,000,000 people using the internet, and growing all the time. This is a lot of people, of which, almost all of them are capable of new ideas.

What a great idea, I must try that sometime.
